Nightwear programs should be defined by buyer use case, target market, fabric and construction requirements, size range, trims, branding and packaging.
Product scope
List every item in the range and whether it is sold separately or as a set. Provide Product photos, measurements, closure details, pocket requirements and trim instructions.
Material review
Confirm composition, weight, hand feel, color, print, shrinkage and care expectations through documented specifications and approved samples. Do not infer these properties from a generic product image.
Branding and packing
Define woven or printed labels, care information, hangtags, individual packing, set packing, barcode placement and carton marks.
Commercial review
Provide intended quantity, size and color split, destination and target launch window. The supplier should then confirm sample terms, production timing and delivery assumptions in writing.
Define every style and set component
A nightwear collection may include pajama shirts and trousers, nightshirts, nightgowns, coordinated robes, shorts or loungewear separates. State whether items are sold individually or as bundled sets, and list each SKU and colourway. For every garment, supply front and back references, garment dimensions, neckline, sleeve, waistband, fastening, pocket, cuff and trim requirements. If a hospitality project needs monograms or coordinated room amenities, separate those specifications from retail private-label orders. Build an order matrix with style, size, colour and quantity so a manufacturer can review the actual mix before confirming an order.
Compare fabrics using buyer-defined evidence
Silky appearance, softness and drape cannot establish fibre composition. Specify material preference, fabric weight if relevant, desired handle, opacity, stretch, wash expectations, shrinkage tolerances and care requirements. Cotton, modal, viscose, lyocell, satin constructions and blended interlocks can differ in finishing, drape and care, so an approved swatch and fit sample should precede a final claim. Any certification, restricted-substance or destination-market compliance requirement must be supported by documentation applicable to the selected fabric and factory scope. Ask the supplier to confirm availability, colour options and acceptable substitutions in writing rather than assuming every fabric is available for every minimum quantity.
Fit, finishing and sample acceptance
Provide a size chart covering intended body range and target finished-garment ease. Record waist and hip dimensions, body and sleeve length, rise, inseam, robe overlap and belt dimensions where applicable. Confirm the intended closure and construction method: elastic or drawstring waist, buttons, piping, binding, seams and hem finish. Test the fit and wash behaviour using an approved sample when the buyer requires those properties. For coordinated sets, verify that pieces match in shade, sizing, trim and presentation. Establish QC checkpoints for stitching, measurement, print placement, labels, shade grouping, cleanliness and approved packing.
Branding, packing and commercial details
Confirm woven or printed labels, care labels, hangtags, gift-ready or hospitality packaging, carton marks, barcodes and destination-market information. Set packing instructions must show which sizes and colours belong together. State quantity by style and colour, intended delivery market and target launch date; sampling, bulk manufacturing and freight are separate stages. For any repeat order, preserve the approved reference for fabric, fit, trims and labels so changes are controlled. Get written confirmation of the manufacturing specification, sample cost, MOQ, price, shipping terms and relevant documents before issuing a purchase order.
