Embroidery, Screen Printing, Sublimation and Transfer Printing Selection

Decoration should be selected from the artwork, fabric, garment construction, colour count, coverage, intended use and buyer-approved appearance. No method is automatically correct for every product.

Embroidery

Embroidery creates a stitched surface and can suit logos, badges and selected decorative areas. Review stitch density, backing, thread colour, edge definition, garment stability and the effect of the embroidery weight on the fabric. A large or dense design may alter drape and comfort.

Screen printing

Screen printing can support solid graphics and repeat production on compatible fabrics. The ink system, colour separation, underbase, curing and desired hand feel should be reviewed for the fabric and artwork. Approve colour and placement on the intended garment rather than only on a screen image.

Sublimation

Sublimation is commonly considered for suitable polyester-based performance fabrics and all-over or panel artwork. The product pattern, colour management, print placement and cut-and-sew alignment must be planned together. It is not a general replacement for decoration on every fibre or dark finished garment.

Transfer printing

Transfer methods include different film, ink and adhesive systems. They can support detailed or multi-colour artwork, but the result depends on fabric compatibility, pressing conditions, stretch, surface texture and intended care. The exact transfer system should be identified and sampled.

Patches and combined methods

Woven, embroidered, printed, rubber or other patch directions can be reviewed where suitable. A design may combine methods, but thickness, attachment, wash behaviour and production sequence should be approved.

Approve a physical sample or strike-off suitable for the method. Decoration cost and timing depend on artwork, size, colours, material, setup and quantity, so they should be quoted against the actual brief.
